First filing is a procedure of applying for a patent protection for an invention that has not been previously disclosed. In general the procedure comprises the following steps:
- initial consultations - to preliminary assess the patentability of the invention, as well as its complexity (for this purpose we recommend to send us the filled form of Preliminary Specification of Invention);
- prior art search - to determine the similar inventions already known to the public;
- drafting the specification - to define possibly the broadest scope of protection of the invention (patent claims), which would simultaneously guarantee that the patent shall be granted (this step is performed with close co-operation with the inventor(s));
- repeating previous step until the application is ready to file;
